Garnet Completed

13. Juli 2010

The “Garnet”, the first of the “Timmelsjoch Experience” architectural sculptures on the South Tyrolean side, has now been completed.

Situated on the rocky mountainside above the village of Moos, the "Garnet” has become a new landmark for the far end of the Passeiertal valley. The informative two-part construction is named after and modelled on the geological rock formations found in the Passeiertal valley. The illuminated viewing platform offers a breathtaking view down to Moos and across to the far end of the Passeiertal valley, while the walk-in garnet alongside it serves as an exhibition room. Inside visitors can discover all sorts of interesting facts, for example about the historic Kummersee lake, about South Tyrol’s highest waterfall or the curious story of the village with Europe’s highest child population. An information pillar displays all the major tourist information relating to Moos and the far end of the Passeiertal valley.

Start of season may be possible on 29th of May!
