If you decide to go for a trip to the mountains in September, you should be well-equipped and prepared for a sudden onset of winter. Therefore, if your car is fitted with summer tyres, it is recommended to carry a set of snow chains in the boot. If the temperature falls ten below 0° C, we highly recommend fitting winter tyres, because the grip is much better, and the stopping distance is significantly shorter. You can enjoy the most beautiful driving experience in the Tyrol every day from 07:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m. There is no specified day for the road closure in winter; it all depends on the weather conditions. Usually, the summer season lasts until the end of October, but it can already start snowing heavily in the middle of October. In this case, winter has arrived, and it will stay. Consequently,  we will be forced to close the road earlier.

However, if the weather is perfect and nature presents itself in the most beautiful autumn colours, you will arrive at the Crosspoint, where homemade delicacies await you in the panorama restaurant. The restaurant is open daily from 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.
