The Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road will open on 12 or 13 June 2024 at the earliest
Yesterday, the avalanche commissions of Gurgl and Moos in Passeier met for a local inspection on the Timmelsjoch at an altitude of 2474 metres. After a thorough examination, the experts came to the conclusion that it will not be possible to open the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road until next week on 12 or 13 June 2024 at the earliest. The avalanche risk is still too high. Above an altitude of 2,400 metres, there are still considerable amounts of snow that still need to melt or fall as avalanches. However, this would require a few more nice days with direct sunlight. We ask for your understanding that the exact opening date can only be determined at short notice.
The avalanche commissions will meet again on Monday and there will be a new update!
